My kids love this book! It's fun that it takes place in the city we live in. It addresses a problem the city, unfortunately, sees a lot of it. While my kids have been exposed to this already, seeing a child affected and how she experiences the season was eye-opening for them. The magical candy cane, and how it is shared to pass on the joy and fulfill the basic need of many, embodies the real reason for the season that we try so hard for our kids to realize. Highly recommended!
